He homered again tonight. His 8th(20th counting Advanced A from earlier in the season) and he went 2/4 with 2 RBI and 2R with 1 K. Maybin continues to hit as well. Dominguez also went 2/5 today with 2RBI playing 1B?

Jose Rosario pitched well for Jupiter. West was nothing special today though.

I'll be impressed when he stops striking out every 3 at bats

He'll get it, he did eventually in High A and it's only a matter of time till he settles in and develops discipline again. At least he is still hitting for power rather than not hitting and K'ing a lot.

K's don't bother me with Stanton. He's 19, strikezone judgment will eventually come (or be forced). I'd be more concerned if the power suddenly vanishes. So long as he's a legitimate 40 homer threat, teams will pitch around him, and that'll slowly take the K totals down with it.

I think it's a bit foolish to his it will come eventually. You cannot just say something will automatically happen. Russell Branyan has 80 power too, he also struck out around 40% of the time in his career, and has had several years where even though he'd have been on pace for over 40 HRs he has a sub-800 OPS.
I think his plate discipline will improve, but until it has, it hasn't, you cannot act like it has when it hasn't.

I'm not saying that it's happened. I'm saying that a very toolsy 19 year old is a pretty safe bet to say he'll figure out the one remaining aspect of his game as opposed to other players who look so good failing they have to get better.
When you're 19 years old, and it seems all but inevitable you'll be a productive major league regular, perhaps as soon as next year, I don't think it's outlandish to say that the one missing piece will come into place sooner or later.

I don't think it's outlandish to expect it to come I do think it's outlandish to guarantee that it will come.
