Update on what is going on:
-Earlier today I bought the domain name SoFlaMarlins.com
-MK7 has negotiated a reasonable rate on a server
The next step to getting on a real message board is purchasing the vBulletin software license. The indefinite license is $180. Since SZ, MK7 and I do not have that type of money, we are now asking for donations.
You can donate whatever amount you believe is adequate through the PayPal donate button on the top left hand side of the board. All the money donated will be on my PayPal account until we have raised the needed amount of money. If we are unable to raise the funds necessary you will be refunded in full.

My question would be is it really worth it.
The premise of the site is a discussion form. Are all the gadgets vBull give worth it?
I'm obviously only talking about myself so maybe other people loved the other aspects, just not worth it to me to use over a free forum software.

There are at least 18 active posters here. Everybody should be able to pony up 10 bucks. I can and I haven't gotten paid in months.

Definitely worth it. Compare this forum to the old one. vBulletin is more user friendly and we can modify and add tons of other gadgets to the site.

There are at least 18 active posters here. Everybody should be able to pony up 10 bucks. I can and I haven't gotten paid in months. And we are working on getting a license at a discount. The $180 is the going rate, it may end up being much cheaper, which will also us to add upgrades such as Live Topic and other cool shit from the other board. |

I just donated. We're much closer to our goal.
Everybody pony up $10 like matt said. I donated a little more because I'm older and have a real job. Ramp, Swift, you guys are certified lucky sperm club members so we need you two to choke up at least $20 a piece. lol

What gadgets did you personally use on vBul that isn't available on other free software forums? The biggest difference in them is security issues, so it becomes a question of do you think you'll be hacked or not. |

I'll be quite honest. I have no fvcking clue about free software forums. I work too much and when I'm not working I'm trying to have sex with hot chicks and watch sports.
I'm basically taking FestaSubZeroMK7's word for it that we need vBul because they're intelligent guys and I like them way more than the other guy. In other words I trust them and $180 between 20 or so people is not a big deal.
